Very rare Phoenician core-formed biconical black and red glass bead with applied horizontal trails in yellow and wavy trails of white glass.
In very good condition.

A fine example of Phoenician craftsmanship. The Phoenicians improved the glass making techniques which they learned from the Egyptians and often decorated the glass with stripes or wavy zig-zag patterns. Phoenician cities were great exporters and spread the Phoenician art throughout the Mediterranean from the 8th to the 2nd century BC.
