Earrings with two Egyptian blue glass beads.

Extensive glass production in Egypt started as early as the Eighteenth Dynasty. A recent discovery linked cobalt blue glass beads, unearthed in Denmark, to the ancient Egyptian workshop for Pharaoh Tutankhamun.

The chemical composition of the Danish beads matched the blue glass on King Tut's death mask. This indicates that 3,400 years ago an extensive trade network ran from Egypt to the Nordic region and reached ancient Denmark.
