Medieval profane pewter badge 'Pair of pattens', rare
Period: 1375-1425
Excepional Medieval profane pewter badge with a pair of pattens. Pattens were Medieval protective overshoes, usually made of wood with leather or cloth bands. The elevation served to protect the normal shoes from the mud and dirt of the street.
This is a rare example in pewter with nice detailing on the band and complete with an openwork suspension loop with a quatrefoil flower.
