Impressive large wood panel presenting Christ as Saviour. He is making a blessing gesture with his right hand, holding the orb in his left hand. Most of the original polychromy still present.

Swabia (south-west of present-day Germany) is a historic region between the Black Forest and Bavaria. Swabian sculptures were essentially religious works and were destined to furnish churches and monasteries. The artists are known for their advanced skill in the wood-carving process and knowledge of polychromy.
