Necklace with Roman multicoloured glass beads in a classic linked design. The authentic Roman beads are restrung with professional materials and decorative spacer beads.

Total length: ± 48 cm
Diameter beads: ± 11,4 mm (rare large size)

Linking chains to create bracelets or necklaces is one of the oldest jewellery techniques and appeared in various ancient cultures. The oldest example of a chain necklace was found in Babylonia in a royal tomb from around 2500 BC.
The links could be adorned with (semi-)precous gemstones, pendants, charms or glass in different colours to imitate precious gemstones.

Ancient & Roman beads
Every authentic ancient bead is slightly different in shape or colour shade and shows different signs of wear or the passing of time (iridescence). This adds to the charm of each piece and makes every composition unique.
