"Silver Rider" or ducaton; recovered from the VOC-shipwreck 'de Liefde' (the Love) which was lost in November 1711 close to the Shetland Islands.

Obverse: Armored knight galloping on horseback right, brandishing sword in right hand. Crowned coat of arms of Utrecht below the rider.
Reverse: Large crowned arms between two lions, date 1711 in cartouche below.

The coin is struck well centered showing complete border. Appealing patina. VF-
