Antique French or Belgian silver devotional plaque of the Madonna, holding the Christ child. The Madonna is shown standing and draped, holding the Christ Child on her left arm.

1The suspension loop above the Madonna's head suggests that the plaque originally served as an independent devotional pendant or hanging ornament. The plaque is now mounted on burgundy red velvet within an antique mid-19th century oval ebonised wooden frame. The reverse retains an old printed French trade label which is secured with folded metal tabs.
