Necklace with Roman green and amber coloured glass beads. The Roman beads are carefully restrung and combined with modern materials making them suitable for modern wear while preserving their historical charm.

Total length: ± 52 cm

Diameter beads: ± 13,5 mm maximum

Good solid condition and wearable. Restrung with modern materials, spacer beads and fittings. Signs of wear consistent with age and use.

Amber was a very expensive commodity in the Roman period. By adding iron-sulphur during the glass-making process the Romans succeeded in imitating this highly appreciated colour in glass.
