Marcus Aurelius: Roman Emperor (161-180 AD). Last of the 'Five Good Emperors' and described as the 'Philosopher KIng'. His death in 180 AD is considered to mark the end of the 'Pax Romana' (golden period of peace and stability in the Roman Empire).
