Domitian: son of Vespasian and Roman Emperor (81-96 AD). He lead successful campaigns against the Germanic tribes, Dacians and Sarmatians and is also known for his building projects, including the Colosseum and Temple of Jupiter.
Modern historians regard Domitian as a complex figure who was both a patron of the arts and a successful military leader, but also a cruel and paranoid ruler. Domitian was the last Emperor to be deified after his death.
