Egyptian Bead Necklaces

Necklaces with Ancient Egyptian Beads

Our necklaces are designed around authentic ancient Egyptian beads. Depending on the individual piece, these may include faience, glass or stones such as carnelian, Lapis Lazuli and rock crystal.

Every ancient bead has its own shape, colour and history. Rather than following a fixed pattern, we combine the beads with modern chains, wire and spacer beads in ways that allow the ancient elements to remain the focus.

Egyptian Faience and Other Materials

Faience was widely used in ancient Egypt for decorative beads, sacred amulets and small objects. Egyptian faience is a quartz-rich material, commonly found in shades of blue and green. These colours, and the material itself, held cultural and symbolic significance in ancient Egypt.

Alongside faience, Egyptian jewellery frequently incorporated semi-precious stones like vibrant carnelian, deep Lapis Lazuli, and clear rock crystal.

Designed and Handmade in the Netherlands

Our pieces are individually designed and handmade in the Netherlands in collaboration with two local jewellery designers. This close collaboration allows us to make small adjustments to some existing pieces or, in certain cases, create a completely bespoke design. If you have a particular size, style or idea in mind, please get in touch before ordering. We will be happy to explore the possibilities with you.

Our designers are often inspired by classic jewellery, but sometimes choose a more contemporary approach when it better suits the beads. We celebrate subtle differences in shape, colour and wear, as these are what give each piece its individual character.

Wearing and Caring for Your Necklace

Having survived for centuries, these ancient beads deserve gentle, respectful handling. To preserve their beauty, avoid any contact with perfumes, cosmetics, harsh household chemicals, or prolonged exposure to moisture. Always use the clasp when putting on or removing the necklace and store it separately from other jewellery.
