Egyptian Bead Earrings

Earrings with Ancient Egyptian Beads

Our earrings combine authentic ancient Egyptian beads with modern hooks, wire and other findings. The design is kept in proportion to the beads, allowing their colour, shape and signs of age to remain the main focus.

Unless a product description states otherwise, the ancient beads are the historical elements and the construction materials and spacer beads are modern.

Pairs with Individual Character

Ancient beads are handmade and are rarely identical. When creating a pair of earrings, we select beads that sit well together in size, colour and character while retaining the differences that show their age and individual history.

The product page gives the length of the earrings and identifies the materials of the ancient beads. Please check the details and contact us if you have particular preferences concerning size, weight or ear fittings.

Egyptian Beads and Materials

Egyptian faience is made largely from quartz and has a glazed surface, often in shades of blue or green. Ancient Egyptian jewellery also used glass and natural stones such as carnelian, lapis lazuli and rock crystal.

The material, estimated date, measurements and condition of the ancient beads are described separately on every product page.

Designed and Handmade in the Netherlands

Every pair is designed and made by hand in the Netherlands. The setting is adapted to the individual beads rather than produced to a fixed pattern. This means that each pair has its own proportions and appearance.

Wearing and Caring for Your Earrings

Handle the earrings by their modern fittings and avoid pulling directly on the ancient beads. Keep them away from perfume, cosmetics, household chemicals and prolonged moisture. Store the pair separately so that the beads cannot knock against each other or other jewellery.
