Our Roman bead earrings combine authentic ancient beads with modern hooks, fittings and decorative elements.

Roman Glass and Other Materials

Many of the earrings in this collection feature Roman glass beads in shades of blue, green, turquoise, amber and red. Some designs may also include ancient stone beads or other materials.

Ancient beads are rarely identical. Each pair is carefully matched for balance, while allowing the natural differences in colour, shape and surface to remain visible.

Designed and Handmade in the Netherlands

We collaborate with two local jewellery designers in the Netherlands. Each pair is made by hand, combining the ancient beads with modern spacer beads, wire, hooks and decorative fittings. These modern elements complete the composition and allow the earrings to be worn today.

This close collaboration allows us to make small adjustments to some existing pieces or, in certain cases, create a completely bespoke design. If you have a particular size, style or idea in mind, please get in touch before ordering. We will be happy to explore the possibilities with you.

Modern Hooks and Fittings

Unless otherwise stated in the product description, our earrings are fitted with standard open hook ear wires. For selected designs, we can also create decorated hoop earrings with knob terminals and butterfly backs. Please contact us before ordering if you would prefer this option.

Caring for Your Earrings

Avoid contact with water, perfume, cosmetics and household cleaning products. Handle the ancient beads gently, wipe the fittings with a soft, dry cloth after wearing and store the earrings separately from other jewellery.
