Object Description
Large, complex enamelled cruciform disc brooch from northern Gaul and the Rhine region. A large disc occupies the centre, surrounded by four smaller circular terminals that form a cross. Concentric circles and ring-and-dot motifs combine provincial Roman craftsmanship with Germanic influences.

Examples found across the Roman provinces of Gaul and Germania reflect the interaction between Roman craftsmanship and local styles.
