Crispus: Roman Emperor from AD 317-326 and son of Constantine the Great. He defeated the Franks in 320 AD, the Alamanni in 322-323 AD. Crispus commanded his fathers fleet in the second war between Constantine and Licinius and won an important naval victory at the Battle of the Hellespont in AD 324.
Two years later his father Constantine ordered him to be executed, soon followed by the ordered death of his wife Fausta. There are different theories on the reason for these deaths, but the true explanation is still unclear.
