A large and impressive engraved clear glass goblet, likely from the German-Bohemian or Thuringian sphere. The goblet has a tall slightly tapering bowl raised on a multi-knopped baluster stem and circular foot. The bowl is richly engraved with an elaborate armorial and martial composition, including a shield beneath a crested helm, flanked by finely detailed scenes of mounted soldiers before a fortified walled stronghold, with figures shown upon the battlements and within a rocky landscape. The foot is engraved with a geometric border.

The unusually large scale and ambitious heraldic decor suggest a commemorative or display function, rather than ordinary table use. The form and style belong to the long Central European tradition of engraved armorial goblets associated with German, Thuringian and Bohemian workshops of the 18th century.
The bowl is engraved with an unidentified armorial shield, apparently per bend, with three mullets and three roundels, beneath a crested helm with horn-like ornaments.

Height: ± 33 cm
Condition:Good overall antique condition, with expected air bubbles and light wear commensurate with age.
