Modern silver pendant with authentic ancient coin. The coin may be removed from the pendant frame if preferred.

Coin: AR Denarius Emperor Nerva (96-98 AD).

Obverse: IMP NERVA CAES AVG P M TR P II COS III P P, laureate head right.

Reverse: AEQVITAS AVGVST, Aequitas standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae.

Diameter: ± 17,2 mm
EF with excellent potrait of the Emperor, flan iregularity.

Quantity

Nerva was Roman Emperor from AD 96 to 98 and the first ruler of the Nerva–Antonine dynasty. He came to power after the assassination of Domitian and sought to restore cooperation between the Emperor and the Senate. As he had no children, Nerva adopted the respected general Trajan as his heir, securing a peaceful succession. He died of natural causes in AD 98.

Nerva’s coins show his distinctive elderly portrait and often promote themes of liberty, justice, prosperity and harmony with the army. A particularly notable reverse type bears the legend FISCI IVDAICI CALVMNIA SVBLATA, referring to his reform of the collection of the Jewish tax.
